Baby wrap/blanket/prop

A daycare parent, whom has become a good friend of mine, just had her little baby girl last week.  I made her these blankets!  Well, 1 is a blanket with a matching pillow for big sister, and the other is multi-purpose!  It is a wrap, a blanket and a pillow prop!  My own creation!  Check out the pics :)

The bottom is pulled up to the middle and attached by 2 cute little buttons so the baby's feet can't get out and cold!

Then wrap the baby, see nice and snuggly!

I took a pillow off my couch, turned the blanket over and stuffed the pillow in the pocket where the baby was.
Then, with adult supervision of course, prop the baby up on the cushy pillow prop, kinda like you would with a boppy!  Actually, I would have used a boppy if I had 1, but I don't anymore, my baby is 5 yrs old, :'(  All grown up!

I sewed and tied the pillow cuz I LOVE the way the tie pillows look, but I didn't want stuffing coming out of the pillow and the baby to choke! I just sewed the blanket :)
This is like the cutest pattern EVER!! :)

Eggnog Cheaters!

Ive been trying to do this Atkins diet with my bf and needless to say Ive been cheating more than I would like!  Well, it's just hard during the holiday season!  Anyway, I have been checking the carbs and sugars on EVERYTHING!  Seriously I have!  So, when I went into the fridge and the Eggnog was staring me straight in the face, IALMOST caved!  See, I don't drink coffee, but I DO buy the creamer to add to my "sugar-free" hot chocolate :)  I just-so-happen to have "Eggnog Creamer"!  So I dbl checked the carbs and sugars, and even the calories on the milk (2%), the creamer and the Eggnog.  What a difference!!  I will post pics later, cuz I have a cpl new posts to post tonight with pics :)

Before we went to the basketball game last night, Ethan read the daily assignment from our Advent calendar and it read "Make a snowman or snowflakes to hang around the house".  Here's how they turned out :)

For some reason the picture didn't want to come out straight :/

Buchanan HS vs AUBD

Good Morning!  Last night I got to meet some basketball players from Australia who are traveling in the states for a tournament, SO COOL!!  I found them on FB and uploaded pics of the game for them!  it was a crazy game, I mean these kids were as tall as freaking trees!  1 guy said their tallest team member is 7'8"!!! Thats insane, lol!  Anyway, they played against my sons school team, Buchanan HS, last night and unfortunately we got squashed with a loss of over 20 points diff, but the experience was AWESOME!  I saw a ref got a big head and kick our head coach out of the game in the 2nd quarter!  Everyone was booing him, how sad for him, lol!  Anyway, our boys played really good, could've hustled a little more (some of them), but it was an anxious game from the start!  Definitely had our boys on their toes!!  Btw, my son is #5 :)

Today Im super excited, because my friend had her baby last night!  Beautiful little girl!  I am so proud of her, I know it wasn't easy, she had tinkered back and forth with the idea of natural or c-section (this is her 2nd baby, 1st was c-section), But she finally decided on a VBAC-vaginal birth after cesarean. I wasn't there, but her mom said she did great and everyone is healthy!  This just reminds me of when I had my babies!  So small, cute and precious!

On another note I started LABELING today!!  I went around my whole house, closets, classroom, kitchen, etc and made a list of everything I wanted to or should be labeled.  I looked up Printable labels, free of course, and printed them out.  I made different labels for each room.  Then I entered all the items on an excel spreadsheet in different fonts.  I printed them out and now I just have to laminate them :)  I will posts pics tomorrow after Im done with all that!

Today I also finished cleaning up the boys room, and came up with an awesome idea for their room!  Boxed in bunk beds!
Only I would add a pull out trundle (looking like drawers) and the ladder would be directly attached to the ceiling and floor, straight up and down, plus curtains!  I would also mount small flat screen TV's in each section for personal tv/gaming time!  :)

I dabbled in the baking arts last week and came up with this super yummy dessert!  Im sure it has been done before, and more elaborate too, but for a newbie full of creative ideas to try, I think I did pretty good :)

I used pillsbury croissant dough and combined 2 triangles for a larger "shell".

Then I stuffed with pie filling :)

To keep the ends together I pinned with toothpicks.

I baked 1 minute longer than per directions on the back of the croissant pkg

Heated up Almond bark chocolate starting at 1 minute, then 30 sec intervals till melted and creamy!

Then I sprinkled powdered sugar on top and drizzled almond bark chocolate over!  YUMMY!!!
Because I run a preschool/ daycare, I am constantly looking for cute ways to decorate, organize, etc.  I was at Sam's Club the other day and saw this rolling drawer shelf thingy and my bf helped me see the potential for simplicity!  I had regular stackable trays until now!  Here's what I came up with!
